CrossFit FCH will be hosting several events this Saturday! We will start off with our FREE Saturday WOD at 9:00am followed by:

Hydrostatic Body Fat Testing starting at 10:00am.  The cost is $39.00, (cash or check only) please make checks out to “Body Fat Test”.  We will collect payment on the day of the event only.  Please reserve your time on the sign-up sheet at the gym or you can email us at coaches@crossfitfch.com to reserve you time.  Don’t wait till the last second to sign-up if you are interested!

Paleo Pot Luck will start at 11:30am.  Sign-up at the gym for the item(s) you plan on bringing.  Beer will be the only non-paleo item allowed, BYOB!

Throw Down Series starting at 10:00am.  What is it?  LYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING THROWDOWN, for more information click here to register click here.  Once you have registered please let us know so we can plan the heats.

"Hope"

Come join us with 9 other CrossFit Affiliates in the Dallas area for this great event! It will be held on Saturday June 9th from 8:00am to 11:00am at 1500 Highway 66, Garland, TX 75040. CrossFit for Hope benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the fight against child cancers. Each participant will receive an event t-shirt and FREE food, drinks and access to the other fun areas.

To participate in this event, your registration fee will be to raise $45 in donations. All you have to do is go to: https://hope.crossfit.com/login and create an account. Once you create an account, select your affiliate name “CrossFit FCH”. Complete the account registration and you’re ready to send your link to your family and friends!  You may also donate to the affiliate and that will act as your registration fee.  Let’s be the box that raises the most donations!

We will cross-reference your donations collected via www.CrossFitforHope.com prior to the event for verification purposes. All registration fees, less expenses, collected for Lake Area Crossfit Affiliates for Hope will be donated to St. Jude's via www.CrossFitforHope.com website.
Once you have reached your goal you can go to the Event Registration Page hosted by CrossFit Garland and register for a time slot: 9:00am, 9:30am, 10:00am, or 10:30am. There are only 30 spots available for each time slot, so don’t be the last to register! You may also email us what time slot you would like to be in and we will register for you.

Last, if you don’t want to participate in the WOD but you want to help, you can still raise donations and/or volunteer to help with one of several different items to make this a great event!  Please email us if you would like to volunteer.

Three rounds of:
Burpees
75 pound Power snatch
Box jump, 24" box
75 pound Thruster
Chest to bar Pull-ups

"Hope" has the same format as Fight Gone Bad. In this workout you move from each of five stations after a minute. This is a five-minute round from which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. On call of "rotate," the athlete/s must move to next station immediately for good score. One point is given for each rep. This WOD will also be scaled for those individuals that need it to be scaled.

“Buttercup Burpee Challenge”

This challenge will begin May 1, 2012. How this works, you’ll do one burpee the first day, two the second day, three the third day and continue all the way to 100 days. The challenge will end on August 8, 2012.

All you have to do is finish the burpees on the day for that day (for example, if it is the 98th day, you finish 98 burpees that day no matter if you split them up between morning and night). If you plan on participating, we will have a “sign up” on the white board at the gym. If you don’t finish the challenge, you will be required to write a “Buttercup” letter to everyone explaining why your are a “Buttercup” and didn’t finish the challenge.  buttercup: n.- wimp, baby
